Pamela Lutgen-Sandvik (Ph.D. Arizona State University) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication and Journalism at the University of New Mexico. She teaches and researches in the area of organizational communication. Her current research includes the issues of workplace bullying and employee emotional abuse, particularly the impact of abuse at work on targets and the ways in which employees resist bullying. Beverly Davenport Sypher (Ph.D. University of Michigan) is Associate Provost for special initiatives at Purdue University. In addition to her administrative appointment, she is a Professor in the Department of Communication. Prior to this appointment, Sypher was a Senior Fellow in the Office of the Provost at Virginia Tech University, Divisional Dean for the social sciences at the University of Kansas, and Chair of the Department of Communication at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Sypher is President-Elect of the Organizational Communication division of the National Communication Association, and has served on the Board of Directors of the International Communication Association. She has received the highest honors for teaching at the Universities of Kansas and Kentucky, and by the National Communication Association.
