The technique of fourier transform has been widely used in the area of electrical engineering, which covers signal processing, communication, system control, electromagnetics and optics. Since a Fourier-transform representation can adequately describe the behavior of electromagnetic wave propagation and scattering, it has been long applied to solve the wave equation dealing with the boundary-value-problems. This book deals with the boundary-value-problems of certain canonical scattering geometries where the technique of separation of variables is applicable. Fourier transform in conjunction with the mode-matching technique yields a simple, analytic, and rapidly-convergent series solution. The purpose of this book is to present such analytic series solutions to the canonical poblems which have been worked out by the author in the last 10 years.Sgall, Jieri is the author of 'Mathematical Foundations of Computer Science 2001 26th International Symposium Mfcs 2001 Marianske Lazne, Czech Republic, August 27-31, 2001 Proceedings' with ISBN 9783540424963 and ISBN 3540424962.
