As the wife of an Episcopal priest, I have had the privilege to prepare and serve food for small and large groups and have, through the years, shared recipes with many people. But when my own children asked me to compile favorite family recipes, I decided to pursue the project in earnest. And so my book was born. The recipes are organized in the usual categories. I have defined words that I think may be unfamiliar. Most often I have included helpful hints and techniques I have discovered that improve the product. The final chapter, The Sm¶rgasbord, re-creates the grandest of our Norwegian festival traditions.
