Roberta John grew up on the Navajo reservation and currently works in Window Rock, Arizona. In 1982, she received a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University, and in 1987, a Master of Arts degree in Communications from Brigham Young University. Ms. John has worked at various entities on and off the Navajo Nation with a primary focus on hard news and public relations. She now has an interest to pursue creative writing, especially fiction geared toward young readers of all cultures. "I think creative writing is the most challenging form of writing, yet has the potential to be the most rewarding. If I can make one person smile from my stories, then I have accomplished my job. I feel that writing imaginary stories is a way to help build positive self-esteem among the youth.
