Commonly, one thinks of heart transplant patients being managed by the likes of Dr Christian Barnard-types; however, the transplant surgeon is involved shortly before the operation and immediately afterward. Once the patient is released from the coronary care unit, care is provided by clinical cardiologists, nurses and, heaven forfend, emergency room physicians. There is no comparable book presently available. This fills an expanding niche market. Note, that this title would fit well with our heart failure titles.
