Optimum Disposal Methods for Use on the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway

The Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW) has important state (Texas) and national economic, energy, and defense uses. Dredging is used to maintain a navigable channel and creates problems of how best to dispose of dredged material. This study develops a methodology to evaluate how best to dispose of this dredged material. The methodology includes: completing a dredged material placement assessment for each alternative; determining the feasibility of each alternative; and comparatively evaluating the results.
