Motor Control (MC) provides a multidisciplinary, international forum for the exchange of scientific information on the control of human movement across the lifespan, including issues related to motor disorders. To this end, MC publishes clinical experimental, modeling, and theoretical studies from a wide variety of disciplines, including biomechanics, kinesiology, neurophysiology, neuroscience, psychology, physical medicine, and rehabilitation. Many of the articles in Motor Control focus on the field of voluntary movement. Recent issues of MC have also addressed topics such as equilibrium-point hypothesis, bipedal locomotion in monkeys, and postural coordination after stroke. A special issue on handwriting is planned for later this year. The special issue will present a comprehensive picture of contemporary studies of handwriting - as an example of a highly coordinated motor action, including such topics as development of handwriting and handwriting in atypical subpopulations. Also available is the online format of MC that offers the same authoritative content available in the print edition, but with the additional advantages of electronically formatted material including the potential to search journals in seconds, access to five years of back issues, and the ability to examine the online version weeks before the print version arrives. Online subscribers are also sent each issue's table of contents by e-mail to announce that a new issue has been published.Latash, Mark L. is the author of 'Motor Control 8 : The International Journal for the Multidisciplinary Study of Voluntary Movement', published 2005 under ISBN 9780736052139 and ISBN 0736052135.
