London Paris

Andrew Gumbel was born in a distant corner of that great anonymous expanse, the London suburbs. He first decided he loved London at the age of 10, and has been trying to make sense of it ever since. A journalist as well as a travel writer, he has returned to London periodically between lengthy periods abroad as a foreign correspondent for The Guardian and The Independent. He currently lives in Los Angeles. Dana Facaros and Michael Pauls have now written over 30 Cadogan Guides. For three years they and their two children Jackson and Lily lived in a tiny Umbrian hilltop village, then an equally remote French village in the Lot valley, where they have now returned after a brief spell on the southern Irish coast.
