SUMMARY

Mikhail M. AGREST, was born in Moscow, Russia, in 1949. At a young age, Mikhail absorbed the love of Physics, Mathematics, Philosophy and Religion. At the age of two, while bouncing on Andrei Sakharov?s knee during Sakharov?s long discussions of issues with Mates Agrest, Mikhail?s father, Mikhail also absorbed a love for Humanism because of its positive meaning. Mikhail M. Agrest attended Leningrad State University in Leningrad, USSR, where he received his MS in Mathematics and Mechanics, with a focus on Fluid Mechanics. His Ph.D. in Physics & Mathematics is from the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, where he performed research in the field of membrane science and technology for almost 20 years. Dr. Mikhail Agrest immigrated to the US in 1992. Having a strong commitment towards education, Dr. Mikhail Agrest taught numerous graduate and undergraduate level students, who now successfully work all over the world. To acquire more experience in teaching in the US, he taught Physics and Mathematics at numerous Colleges in South Carolina, which include, Trident Technical College, The Citadel, Limestone College, University of SC, Beaufort. Since 1993, Dr. Mikhail Agrest has been on the faculty of the Physics and Astronomy Department at The College of Charleston in Charleston, SC. Teaching Physics at a Liberal Arts Institution lead Dr. Agrest to a conclusion that Physics, as a multicultural discipline, is in strong relation to a variety of human activities. It is important for the cognition process to build strong connections in the student?s brain between the principles of Physics and experience, which students acquire on an everyday basis in many of their activities. These activities, which at first glance, seem to have nothing to do with Physics include, business, entertainment, communication, sport, and many more.Agrest, Mikhail M. is the author of 'Lectures on Introductory Physics II ', published 2004 under ISBN 9780759345836 and ISBN 075934583X.
