Jerry Capeci, a New York City-based reporter, columnist, and author for three decades, is one of America's foremost experts on organized crime. In 1992, Mustain and Capeci wrote Murder Machine (Dutton). In 1988, they wrote Mob Star: The Story of John Gotti (Franklin Watts). In 2002, Alpha Books published a greatly expanded edition of Mob Star: The Story of John Gotti that included the full Gotti saga, from his rise to his death in a federal prison hospital. Capeci is also at work on his next book, Wiseguys Say the Darnedest Things: The Quotable Mafia, which will be published by Alpha Books in 2004.
