Ron Dick served with the Royal Air Force for 38 years. His final assignment was as Defence Attache and Head of the British Defence Staff in the United States. He retired in 1988 in the rank of Air Vice-Marshal. During his career, he flew 60 different types of aircraft, accumulating over 5,000 hours of flight time.
