Arthur A. Hart, director emeritus of the Idaho State Historical Society, is the author of more than a dozen books and hundreds of articles about Idaho history and architecture. He has received numerous awards for his writing and leadership in historic preservation, including the American Institute of Architects’ highest award to a non-architect, an honorary membership. He is a founding member of Preservation Idaho, the Basque Museum and Cultural Center, Friends of Bishops’ House and the Idaho Botanical Garden.
