Nevertheless, manufactural provenances are included where pertinent in references to where one can find "exemplary pieces" of a given type. For example, under "AGATEWARE", references are given to the English factories of Astbury, Wedgwood, and Whieldon, among others, as producers of exemplary pieces of agateware. Ware listings in general include a good bit of historical backdrop for purposes of placing origins, as well as abundant technical descriptions for purposes of identifying raw materials and manufactural techniques.
