Dave first worked as a full-time magazine writer for such publications as Connoisseur, Science Digest, Popular Mechanics, and Life before his art degree and the growing field of computer animation called out to him. He has now been an animator for 25 years, often as the "character animation lead," working with many different kinds of production or technical teams including those for ad agencies, music videos, game and media companies, and even Disney. In the past few years, however, his commercial projects have primarily been through Puppet3d, an animation-technology company he founded with former Accaim CEO David Sturman. Puppet 3d's claim-to-fame was in developing real-time animation tools for Nickelodeon.
