Beginning Algebra Thinking, Grades 3 to 4

Your third and fourth graders will explore eight kinds of problems: number puzzles, number patterns, mystery numbers, square puzzles, seesaw puzzles, what's the rule, ratios, and Venn linking circles. Students will use cubes, calculators,diagrams, and other strategies to solve problems. These experiences help students understand the concept of a variable and how to solve equations.
