Abstracts of Lancaster County, Va, Wills, 1653-1800

Until now, this book has been difficult to use for research due to its lack of an index. We have made an NEW INDEX, that contains the names of approx. 6,000 individuals, specially for this reprint volume. This book should help those who had relatives living in the Eastern portion of the state of Virginia with emphasis around the Chesapeake Bay area. Lancaster County was formed in 1651 from Northumberland and York Counties and in turn, it was divided to create OLD Rappahannock (1656) and Middlesex (1669) counties.
